Trekking is the most natural way of traveling through a
mountain land, on foot at human speed. Traveling on foot and with few luxuries
but with all your basic needs is a liberating experience. This may be hard to
appreciate on the first few days of a trek as you struggle with the physical
pain of exercise, then you trek through the barrier, rising with the sun,
walking all day and sleeping under the stars feels the most natural thing in the
world.
Trekking offers wonderful opportunities of direct interaction with unique
cultures and the natural world. If you walk through the Himalayas with and open
mind, as well as awareness and sensitivity, you will have done everything to
ensure a fascinating and rewarding trip.
Ladakh is criss-crossed by a complex network of mountain trails which even in
these days of motorized transport and roads, still provides the only link
between the majority of valleys, villages and high pastures. Some of these
routes are the highways of the centuries-old caravan trade, while others are
hardly ever used except by a few shepherds each year. These provide the trekkers
with wonderful routes ranging from gentle undulating hikes to demanding
expeditions over wild mountain passes.
The entire region of Ladakh has some of the most fascinating treks in the indian
Western Himalayas. Our treks range from 2 to 30 + days. Our well-trained and
experienced trekking guides, expert cooks who can rustle up a gourmet meal in
the middle of nowhere and are always wanting to please and help, camp staff take
care of all your needs on the trek. Our study camp equipment is well maintained
and can stand up to any adverse weather conditions which are unlikely anyway
during trek season while providing you the best possible comforts on your trek.
We prefer to use local people ..... it is important to have a good guide but isd
more important to have good pony man with healthy animals.
we have mentioned some of the treks and if you have some particular region in
mind that you would like to trek in , we can design one specifically for you.
